800+ Trees Planted Across 6 Bihar Districts in Our First Year
In our first year of operations, Maya Samajik Utthan Evam Paramarsh Sansthan has reached a significant milestone — 800+ trees planted across 6 districts of Bihar.
When we started in June 2023, our goal was modest: plant a few hundred trees in our home district of Patna. By March 2024, with the support of village panchayats, school children, and 30+ volunteers, we had planted over 800 native saplings across Patna, Ara (Bhojpur), Vaishali, Nalanda, Jahanabad, and Arwal. Our species mix — Neem, Peepal, Mahua and Arjun — was chosen specifically for ecological resilience and direct community benefit. Survival rates after the first monsoon have crossed 78%, well above the regional average. This is only the beginning. In year two we aim to triple our reach, deepen panchayat partnerships and document the long-term outcomes for biodiversity, water tables and household income.
